And, I agree with all of them. But, above all reasons, it is because of Pilot and Moya that I love FarScape--the best two characters, in my opinion, in all science fiction.Tsukiyumi wrote:I listed all of my other reasons.Varthikes wrote:Me too. At least, that's one of the reasons.Tsukiyumi wrote:

Yeah, Pilot is awesome. And, Moya is an amazing ship, for an unarmed, organic transport vessel. I don't think I cared more about a ship in any sci-fi series, 'Trek included.

I thought the Vogons from the Hitchhiker's Guide movie were fantastically weird. Go Jim Henson's Creature Shop!

Never saw the film. But the IDEA of them was great, with a liver for a brain and all.schizo-hal wrote:I thought the Vogons from the Hitchhiker's Guide movie were fantastically weird. Go Jim Henson's Creature Shop!
I also liked the mattresses as alien creatures from Life, the Universe, and Everything.

After getting deep into B5 I thought the Vorlons were pretty strange.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.
-Remain Star Trek-

There are a few scenes that make the movie really worth watching. One involves yarn.Mikey wrote:Never saw the film. In the same vein as what I posted in the "design your alien" thread, I also have to give an honorable mention here to the Affront from the Culture novels.

Also from the Hitchhiker's Guide, I'd like to nominate that race who are a sentient shade of the colour blue.
For formal wear they project themselves through prisms.

From Star Trek, I'd say the Tholian and Species 8472. Especially 8472.

The 8472 are the weirdest trek aliens.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

The Nomads from Freelancer. They were basically blue slugs with 4 like...tendril things, that projected a blue aura and took over people by biting them with huge tenticularl tongues that grow inside the body much like the things from Alien.
Although the sentient shade of blue sounds...interesting.

Were they the same ones who played "interdimensional cricket," which consisted of hitting someone as hard as you can and then running away and apologizing?Rochey wrote:Also from the Hitchhiker's Guide, I'd like to nominate that race who are a sentient shade of the colour blue.

Re: Strangest alien in sci-fi?
I'm going to have to go to the library and borrow some Hitchiker guide to the galaxy books.
