Silent Hunter IV

Post by Reliant121 »

Does anyone else play this? Or Just Silent hunter in general. i think its a fantastic game. Good graphics, fairly accurate, good details. And action packed.

I've been looking into it. Submarine warfare games are my bag.

Honestly, its worth your buck. SH III was pretty good, but it lacks some of the finer details of SH IV. The graphocs and ocean movement details of SH IV look like they came from a movie. And the Submarine models are pretty accurate, if a bit repetative. the main disadvantage is alot of the American WWII subs look very similar. Only the S class boats are majorly different, but they are the oldest and slowest. but i normally take an S class.

if you do get it, make absolutely sure you get the latest patch. it makes it a LOT more stable than it was orignally.

Never heard of it. What's it like? Is it worth getting?

If you like sub sim then yes. one of the good things is that it can be as in depth and detailed as you want it to be. you can set it so you have to make all the firing solutions yourself or you can have it on the arcade modes where you lock on with periscope and fire the torpedo. that simple.
