Okay, I'll stop now.

Dammit, that's enough.

Whew. That was close. For a minute there I was stuck on "Jovi"...

I make fun of my wife about her obsession, but in truth I do like his music. He performs (and I think recorded on one of his albums) a rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" which is very moving.

His brother Matt owns and operates a really nice bar/night club in Sea Girt, too.

Yeah, there is an upside. At this point, BTW, she has seen Bon Jovi more than I had seen the Dead while Papa was still alive.
He must put on a good show then.

He does. He generally plays for quite a while, and definitely works. You don't get cheated of your ticket price when you see him.

Doesn't put on a show like KISS, but then nobody does...

Yeah, Bon Jovi isn't as bad as some make him out to be, and he's actually a pretty decent actor.

... Why do you think I know the lyrics? I think I've still got a few cassettes of his around somewhere.

Mostly German.

I agree though - great film (although I've only seen it as a series).

There was a series? Or do you mean it was just aired in installments?

The latter - the Beeb have broadcast it as a six-part series several times.

I've got a number of Bon Jovi CDs. I love rocking out to the one of the better bands of the 1980's, still going strong.

Me? Tranaformers, for my number three. Personally, it beats out SW.

IIRC, the series was produced first, and later edited down into the movie.

 I think you're mistaken. There was a 1985 miniseries, but we're talking about the 1981 film:

Ah, now I'm confused :) I've only ever seen the series, and the shorter directors cut which came out later.

Did they really release a 5 hour feature film?

Yes. If you can stand the dark and 5 hours of German, it's worth it.
