I'd have the TNG cast with the Romulans as the bad guys. Maybe base it around Vulcan wanting to leave the federation and join the Romulans.

It'd be a short movie, unless the Vulcans were being coerced to leave.

The Federation couldn't very well force them to stay, so the whole movie would be petitions being filed, and diplomats doing their little mutual masterbation routine.

Doesn't sound nearly as interesting as my Q movie. :P

Now you're thinking. Pointless nudity has a point when it's a by-product of Q f*cking with people. :D

That always what I figured Enterprise for, a side universe created by some bored Q who wanted to see what things would be like if he changed every single bit of history in an effort to destroy both the franchise and the canon standing of everything made before it...

Sounds good to me.

Much better than the OOU explanation that B&B decided they didn't give a sh*t what the long-time fans wanted, and instead pandered to the short attention span "ooh, pretty explosions" crowd.

Don't forget the pseudo sex in the decon chamber... the more I think about it its either the Q thing or a bunch of uber fanbois standing there j**king off on the film and hoping it turns into somthing good...

Anything with Vulcans is awesome.

Set just post Dominion War, with the E-E and its crew. Takes place around Bajor and the wormhole as Picard and co must try to stop rogue Dominion elements from re-igniting the war.

I think the only crew you can use is TNG. Voyager wont work since the whole point of the show was getting home and having them on a mission in the AQ just seems pointless. DS9 broke up after the show, Sisko left to the wormhole, Miles went to the academy, Worf left, Odo left, Garek left, no many options for story there. ENT doesnt deserve a movie and TOS is to old.

Yeah, that was my reasoning for using the TNG cast, too.

I think a lot of fans would be pissed off if you had a Bajor/wormhole problem that was resolved by the Enterprise rather than DS9.

Well, the plan was to include DS9 and some of the characters, as well. It'd just mostly focus on the E-E, perhaps with the Defiant along as well.

Mikey wrote:Have the E-E involved either in the Dominion War or some issue involving Bajor a/o the Cardassians; I'd love to see a deeper exploration of the Picard/Sisko interaction, an O'Brien and Work reunion with their old shipmates, the Riker v. Kira power struggle, and Picard take the E-E into a normal fleet action (as in, not vs. a Borg cube or super-ship.)
There's a Riker v Kira power struggle? Even when she was with Tom Riker (the "evil" one) they got on well. I think they'd work pretty well together.
Though I agree with seeing the E-E leading a fleet of muscle - Defiants, Prometheuses, Akiras...

Basically, the best films are the ones that reintroduce something known, but it's still an original aspect - Khan, Klingons, Borg. The ones that didn't work are because they didn't have some backstory that made everyone go 'oh uh' - TMP, Insurrection, Generations, Sybok.
And character development is increadibly important, it's what can make a film good by itself. One that involves every character - not just centralises the Picard and Data show with others - in FC everyone had good, defined roles with personalities, and each had *their* own scene. In Nemesis, it was just Picard and Data (both with clones) and every now and again someone else would talk. In FC they all had their stand out bits - Picard and the ready room, Data and the Queen, Crusher and the EMH, Troi in the pub, Laforge/Barclay and Cochrane, Worf and I'd kill you where you stand. Riker didn't have a specific one, but he directed too. In Nemesis no characters except Picard and Data had a scene which they made their own - the same with Insurrection.

I once wrote up a summary of the TNG crew's roles in the films. Unsurprisingly it was non too complimentary.
