Deus Ex
I just started playing it; so far, it's been pretty awesome. Just wondering if anyone else ever played it?

Re: Deus Ex
Right after I asked, I thought, " Why would he have finished the game if he didn't like it?"

How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Well, it isn't really a shoot em up - I'm told its possible to complete the game without firing a gun.
Though I confess that most times I resorted to my usual standby of systematically killing every single enemy before continuing - that said I usually went out of my way to avoid shooting an enemy, I found it much more fun to hack the security systems and get the turret guns to do the job for me.

One of my all time favorite games. Have two copies so if anyone wants to play against my wife and I, let me know.

I'm just starting out; I'm trying to sneak to the docks, eliminating people silently with the knife. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

That's fun and frustrating at the same time. I usually use the pepper spray and the crowbar combo, saving the pistol for any clusterfrags that pop up.Tsukiyumi wrote:I'm just starting out; I'm trying to sneak to the docks, eliminating people silently with the knife.

Funny, I've been using a pepper spray/knife combo. Do people you knock unconcious wake back up at some point? Because if not, I suppose the baton would also be a good option.Cpl Kendall wrote:That's fun and frustrating at the same time. They do but I think you kill them with the crowbar. The baton and shockstick let them get back up.Tsukiyumi wrote:

Never even heard of it. What's it about?

Here, it's easier to give a link than explain it.
Re: Deus Ex
Its an excellent game. I love the multiple plot lines you can follow and that you don't have to shoot everything that moves to continue. I've played Deus Ex 2 as well and I don't find it as well thought out or as difficult. There isn't nearly as many plot lines. Unfortunately because Deus Ex 1 is based on the original Unreal Tournament engine, my latest computer runs it at triple speed and I can't slow it down.
Anyone else have that problem? Were you ever able to correct it?
