Russert was GREAT. Nobody had more big-time politicos sweat as much as Russert did. Who are we left with? Chris friggin' Matthews?

Sadly that's about it. Everyone else is too pro one side or the other to go after both with earnest (O'Rielly, Olbermann). After checking out some stories Russert seemed like a really nice carring father too. Real shame with father's day so close.

Russert had an uncanny ability to hold his subjects accountable without being mean-spirited or trying to make himself bigger than the issue.

And yes, the real shame of the matter is for his family.

Very sad. He did his job well, and I would hate to be the guy to take his spot.
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.
