Star Trek Voyager Elite Force
A fun first person shooter, that is easy to play by even mainstream gamers. In fact my only complaint is the overlong cutscenes. And the entire Voyager cast did their own voices, except for Seven of Nine although that is fixed with a patch in the expansion pack. It's from a few years ago but it was a good game and even had a sequel called Star Trek Elite Force II. It follows a non-canon group called the Hazard team, a team constructed by Tuvok to go on extra dangerous away missions.
Saddly I don't have the expansion pack or Elite Force II. The expansion pack includes a few fixes, like Seven of Nine's voice as well as a virtual tour that's fairly accurate with a few minor mistakes like the location of Harry Kim's quarters being put on Deck 2 rather then Deck 6 which is cannon, and a few inaccesable areas, like the entire Deck 12.
Elite Force 2 starts with Hazard Team doing something on board the Borg Sphere during the episode "Endgame". The rest of it takes place on the E-E with much of the cast absent(this takes place after Nemisis so Riker, Troi, and Data have an excuse. And Crusher if you follow a Deleted scene).
So anyone else play these games?

I have... 'Obtained' them both. Sadly I don't have them anymore. I managed to complete them both, the second game has better gameplay and weapons but the storyline is rubish! No Worf or LaForge for some reason, though.

Oh, yes that reminds me, there is a PS2 version of the first game out. It is not as good as the PC version. The graphics are worse, fewer NPCs(in some situations), and the AI is less advanced.

I still have Elite Force for PC, which came with a special comic book and EF pin you can wear to ST conventions. It uses the Quake III engine and is a really fun 1st person shooter.

It looked a lot of fun. Never bought it though. Trek's weapons don't appeal to me too much.

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

I don't know about the second game but in the first you only have two weapons from the show, the type 2 phaser and the Phaser Rifle. There are some later weapons that are designed in federation style, but you got a large veritety of weapons, in addition to the type 2 and 3 phasers you got the I-Mod, an anti-borg weapon, the Scavanger Rifle, a weapon with a rapid fire shot and energy grenades, the Stasis weapon which takes out Etherians and species 8472 in one shot, the Federation compound grenade launcher which fires grenades and mine-like weapons, the Federation personal photon torpedo launcher with dumbfire and traking modes, the Tetrion(spelling?) pulse rifle with a mini-gun mode and a richochet shot mode, as well as the Arc Welder which fires an shocking beam or an energy ball type weapon.Monroe wrote:It looked a lot of fun. Trust me the weapons are actually one of the stronger elements of this game.

The computer version despite being older is actually better in terms of graphics and load times. When I played the PS2(I have both PC and PS2 versions) I hated the really long load times. I hated it as much as the overlong cutscenes. That's why I give Elite Force a 4 out of 5Reliant121 wrote:i HAD...or might still have the PS2 version of the original. I loved it to bits.

I love the mods that are available for this game. Some of the ones I've got are models for Johnny 5(basic, damaged, gold, and Number 4 versions) a collection of several astromechs, the T-101, several characters from Star Trek New Frontier, M'Ress with both TOS and mirror TOS uniforms, Vina(the Orion female), and several Captain Proton characters. I've also got maps of the E-nil's main areas and the rarely seen rec deck. Easy to mod and un-mod as needed, like when you want to play in public but don't want others to see the nudie mod that guys love so much.

I played some online multi-player when it first came out; a friend of mine had it. Cool game. The so-called vets were a bit surprised when the "n00b" started blasting the hell out of them in CTF games on both offense and defense (I'm a master of dodging conflicts and going straight home with a flag in most FPS games
). I can figure out almost any game after a few tries (I haven't owned a console since SNES, but I still fragged the hell out of my buddies on Halo 2 the first time I played it
).

i'm like that with Driving games. my parents and friends are amazed after about 2 minutes of GTA IV i was the only one that could do a high speed powerslide and not hit anything. But i'm a careful driver most of the time. Emphasis on the most.Tsukiyumi wrote:I played some online multi-player when it first came out; a friend of mine had it. Cool game. I don't think avoiding a fiery death in GTA IV counts as being a good driver :pReliant121 wrote:i'm like that with Driving games. my parents and friends are amazed after about 2 minutes of GTA IV i was the only one that could do a high speed powerslide and not hit anything. Re: Star Trek Voyager Elite Force
I had the demo for EFII a while back but I haven't been able to get the actual game, I'm definitely interested in working for Picard rather than Tuvok. That said the original game was excellent.

i'm not necessarily saying i'm a good driver. I'm saying that i can pick up driving games really easily. Besides, dying a fiery death in GTA IV is sometimes the whole pointMonroe wrote:I don't think avoiding a fiery death in GTA IV counts as being a good driver :pReliant121 wrote:i'm like that with Driving games. my parents and friends are amazed after about 2 minutes of GTA IV i was the only one that could do a high speed powerslide and not hit anything. I can't even avoid a fiery death in GTA IV whilst standing still - you'd think Niko would know better then to throw a Molatov underarm when hiding behind a wall.
