It's commonly used to refer to Couple on dating and adult sites as well, so one could be easily confused if their into that and never had any contact with the military. Well I know it due to my dad being in the military and M*A*S*H. Radar was a corporal I think.

I may be wrong but I thought that technically "grade" referred to non-coms and "rank" to officers.

I must say that this representation of the Durch forces is rather outdated, as we don't use such equipment anymore in Afghanistan, as far as I know.
