I can see good in all Trek. and there's parts of ENT that I like more than TOS, but there's some stuff that TOS has done better than the rest of Trek.

I agree, though I'm one of the apparently few people who love all of the Star Wars movies, so maybe I'm crazy.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:*Hands him a cheese greater* Have fun.Teaos wrote:I still stand by my opinion that I'd rather fu*k a cheese grater than watch the garbage that is TOS.

You're not crazy... at least, not on that count.
I do too - I just love some more than others. The Star Wars films are like sex or pizza: some are better than others, but they're never truly bad.

The fight scene in TPM was beautifully-choreographed. And Qui-Gon was the quintessential Jedi. Young Anakin was infinitely more tolerable than old Anakin and I felt Jake did a good job with him.
AOTC had a great Obi-Wan and kick-ass battle at the end on Geonosis. And Obi-Wan on Kamino hit a lot of right notes. And the ending, with the clonetroopers loading up, was very chilling and well-done.
ROTS and Order 66 was heart-breaking. And Obi-Wan against Anakin on Mustafar equally so. And the dual scene of Padme giving birth to the twins and Vader being 'birthed' from Anakin was great.

Not really. The living force was not something most jedi followed. And Qui-Gon was the quintessential Jedi.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Lucas can't write dialog to save his life. He's a great concept guy, but when it comes to the nuts-and-bolts of great writing, he doesn't have a clue.Mikey wrote:...but Neeson was able to do wonders with what would have otherwise been trite and hackneyed dialogue.

I'd find it rather implausable if there weren't various different beliefs. Hell, modern religions are split up over all sorts of things. It would only make sense that the Jedi, who are rather similar to a religious order, would have similar divisions.

Excellent analysis. Qui-Gon's philosophy of "the living force" seems to be intuitively what most "laymen" would think of as the Jedi philosophy.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Okay, correction.
Qui-Gon was, out of universe, what most people felt a Jedi should be. The stereotypical Jedi, as it was.

well, there are different Force 'cults', for lack of a better term. Not Jedi, but not Dark Siders either:Rochey wrote:I'd find it rather implausable if there weren't various different beliefs.
