Everything in TOS was stark and minimalist though, so they fit.Duskofdead wrote:

Just saying. And since people around here seem to dislike the nacelles being out in the open the fewer of them the better probably.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Well I know it sounds silly but, aesthetically speaking, starships to me always sort of look like they could "skim through water." When I see one-nacelled ships, they look like if they tried to stay vertical in the water, they'd flip over. They just look... imbalanced?Cpl Kendall wrote:Everything in TOS was stark and minimalist though, so they fit.Duskofdead wrote:

Well this is space, so you could design a flying starfish if you chose too. Think of the one nacelle's as hydrofoils.Duskofdead wrote:

That's how I thought of it when I came up with the skim-drive in my series.Cpl Kendall wrote:Well this is space, so you could design a flying starfish if you chose too. Think of the one nacelle's as hydrofoils.Duskofdead wrote:

If you build them so they are smooth they can you through planets atmospheres and gas giants a lot easier than not smooth ships.

And to hide, I cant remember why or when but the E-D was in a star for awhile. More than once IIRC.

Yeah, and they breed like rabbits.ChakatBlackstar wrote:

That's pretty rare though. A better investment would be a cloak or other stealth technology. And to hide, I cant remember why or when but the E-D was in a star for awhile. More than once IIRC.
