Religion, Christianty especially, has no place dictating military policy. It's one of their commandments, the ninth I believe, is "Thou shalt not kill". And that's one of the points of a military in the first place.

This is the nation that still has sodomy and adultery charges on the books, that's practically unheard of in the rest of NATO.

I checked out the official site, they want a permanent visa to get in. Though my trade is priority one for recruitment from Commonwealth militaries. If they were willing to help me get a Visa and pay my relocation I'd do it. Probably wouldn't pass the medical though.

Technically, oral and anal sex are illegal where I live. Don't know about other states.

Yep. Anything other than penis-vagina penetration is sodomy under the UCMJ. It's usually only used when they can't get you on anything else. But it's a sign of the incredible religious influence in the US military. There's been a number of stories come out in the last year of atheist soldiers being denied promotions or their right to form social clubs as well as zealous Padres and Senior NCO's pushing their faith on the troops.

I knew the US was rather religiously influenced, but I didn't think it was that bad.

Your in Texas? IIRC it's illegal in a few of the hillbilly states, Arizona, Alabama, Kansas etc. I'd say West Virgina too but then they'd have to stop screwing their coal, so that's out.

I hope it's not illigal in WV. That's where my gf goes to school, and I was hoping to visit her for spring break

Fear not, WV's anti-sodomy laws were repealed in 1976. And in 2003 laws banning consensual sodomy were overturned by the US Supreme Court. Which means local laws are no longer valid.
