is the 30million a realistic quote, or scaremongering, whats the source?
If it is 30million,then is obscenely high
From what I understand, there are 30 million in total, from all countries, with about 12 million from Mexico. I guess that number also counts visa overstays and fraudulent marriages. Somewhere between 200-400,000 people a year attempt to cross. Big problem.

That's hardly the issue, at least not for me. All the money spent finding these people, shipping them back, health care costs, education costs... It really piles up. If they want to come up here, there is a front door (visas and green cards). They have no business trying to sneak in through the window, so to speak.

some politicians try to justify lax immigration enforcement by claiming that certain demographs bolster the economy by doing undesirable jobs etc, do you believe that?

I think using the 'undesirable jobs' argument is a way of ignoring our disturbing lack of progress toward more automated systems. I guess it boils down to: "immigrants are cheaper than robots". The only people who benefit from undocumented workers are the rich, while low-income people (such as myself) are significantly hurt by lower wages.

Tsukiyumi - I smell what you're cooking. NJ has a problem with it too, with HUGE amounts of funding - through schools, Section 8 housing, etc., etc. - going into the problem and leading to things like having had to raid the state transportation trust down to zero. Meanwhile, I can't even get assistance (like they all do) for my daughter's asthma therapy.

Earlier I meant maybe illegal immegration isn't the major issue amongs the Hispanic vote. Since they're voting it means they themselves aren't illegal(currently), so they may instead be voting with unions for Hillary or something.

This is all without mentioning the ENORMOUS problem I have with MS-13 and other openly criminal scum waltzing across and killing people (including targeting border control agents). The Mexican government actually produces pamphlets and DVDs offering tips on how to cross, and how to stay hidden after crossing. 12 of the 9/11 hijackers were illegals, and I'd say that alone is a good enough reason to stop the practice. Add the other issues, and it really is a no-brainer.
