Cpl Kendall, that was my point. NK is not in a position to do anything but they continue to act as though they can. We control what they can do. Remove the breathing room and you remove the problem. Though, 1.2 million troops is still a nasty thing, even on foot.

At the moment, the only thing he can do is screw up his own country even more than it is already. He may be crazy, but he's smart enough to know that any move against South Korea would just end up with him dead. He can continue to posture, but he can't actualy do anything.

The problem is his wish for terrorist acts and WMDs. Unlike Iraq, Nk already does these things. They have been for a number of years. UN personel have found chemical weapons on a number of visits and NK has tried several times to develop nuclear power and weapons. Though NK could never use these weapons since they can't deliever them, they can have a melt down which would effect China, Russia, South Korea, Japan and the oceans around them. This is the problem. If he was acting a fool and left well enough alone then I wouldn't care. He is however a risk to life outside of his worthless little country and there for should be dealt with.
Millions of people wouldn't have to die for the point to come across. Once he sees his hands are tied then he'll have to agree to whatever plans the UN lays on the table. Knowing that millions COULD die and that HE would take the blame for it would be enough to sway his mind a bit.

You do realise you could say exactly the same thing about any nuclear power in the world? Any country could have a nuclear meltdown, using the possibility of one is hardly grounds for killing millions of innocent civilians in an attack.Though NK could never use these weapons since they can't deliever them, they can have a melt down which would effect China, Russia, South Korea, Japan and the oceans around them. I doubt it. He's let millions of his own people die already, and he doesn't seem too bothered by that.Millions of people wouldn't have to die for the point to come across. How many melt downs do you know of? The US has had 2. Russia 4 that I can think of. Neither in the US caused untold harm, only one in Russia fell out of hand. NK has had more then a dozen project melt downs in just about 10 years. None have gone BOOM lucky enough, but thats enough reason for me to shut them down. Or at the least, not let NK run the programs anymore and tell them they have to hire some outside help. You do realise you could say exactly the same thing about any nuclear power in the world? Yes, he did, then he came to the US for Aid in return for peace talks and release of embargos. He may not care for his people but he has nothing if they all die off and even less if they revolt. If the UN and US aid stations are removed then he'll have to explain why, thats if we don't tell everyone while we are leaving. It isn't always the use of force or power but the fact that you can use that power. Also, Power isn't something that anyone has or takes. Its what they are given, given by the people that they have power over. If we remove what allows his power then in order to keep it, he will have to give into us. Its a trade. His power for our wants.I doubt it. He's let millions of his own people die already, and he doesn't seem too bothered by that.
