Very cool. :)

Though I really don't know why the hell you'd want to bring an SMG out with you when you're taking a dog for a walk. I mean, a pistol I can understand if you're in a bad neighbourhood, but this is a bit over the top for scaring off someone trying to steal your wallet.

I don't have volume. Why precisely would you want one of these? As opposed to having an actual flashlight and a regular pistol you could draw.
Also is it a SMG or a legal handgun in a weird housing.

It's just a proof-of-concept, never intended for actual production. The demo states that you could carry it while walking your dog at night and transform it if attacked. Though fully automatic weapons are highly restricted so it loses it's one advantage over a sidearm, which you can also get with a light on them.

He does state that it is an SMG but it's more akin to a machine pistol.

That is just silly unless he's selling these things to Africa where you might need some full auto while out walking the dog.

Otherwise you'd be restricted to semi auto with the thing. At which point a regular pistol in your pocket would be better.

Though you can also get a machine pistol in a regular pistol sized frame. Though I guess you there could be hypothetical situations where you can't obviously brandish a weapon, but you feel you'll need access to a weapon with a stock and accessories.

Again I can only think of Africa.

I hope that Kendall is right in saying that it's a non-market-intended concept. I can't think of any legitimate reason to disguise an SMG.

I could see it for a couple reasons.

Low profile security in war zones (Red Cross trying to get themselves killed in Africa again).

CIA/FBI or especially Israeli forces trying to be sneaky but still wanting to have some firepower.

The problem of course is that this thing, like it's radio mimicing predicessor

Doesn't really look inconspicuous.

I think I'd rather take my chances sticking something small with a retracting stock into my jacket.

I still don't see what's so terrifying about Locust Street.
I mean, all you'd need there is a can of bug-spray.

If it is built on a Glock format... why not just carry a Glock?

Why not just carry a pistol? If you're so worried about your safety that you think you need to carry a gun, then why not go for something much more compact and useable?

Well, Locust street doesn't have locusts, it has a lot of people with anger management issues. Even the local PD tends to be afraid to go there, without a lot of backup. Advice for that area is, keep a low profile, and leave as soon as possible, but not too fast or you'll draw attention to yourself. If I ever had to walk that street, I'd want to be packing as much heat as legally possible.
