Longtime “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek died Sunday morning at the age of 80.

The Twitter account for the beloved game show confirmed the news, writing, "Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex."

Just before the football game on ABC, they flashed a picture of Alex with his birth and death dates...and nothing more. Not a complete shocker, but still sad.

Considering stage-four pancreatic cancer... it wasn't 'if', but 'when'. Still sucks, mind.

He made it longer than most. I do question about quality of life over quantity in such situations.
