Made habanero infused vodka. I kind of forgot about it and let it sit for 10 days instead of 7. It's very spicy. :happydevil:

So, my dad went to have a couple of coronary arteries catheterized to nip some apparent blockages in the bud... turns out he's got one artery 50% blocked; one 90% blocked; and one 50% blocked in each of two places along with a "huge" (doctor's word) aneurysm. Just waiting for his kidneys to recover enough to tolerate a second high-contrast scan, and then most likely a coronary bypass surgery early next week. He's staying in the hospital through then because that aneurysm is a ticking time bomb, even more so than the arterial blockages or thrombi, and in any event the surgery itself is scary enough when the patient is 80+ years of age.

Sorry to hear that. We had a guy in work have an aneurysm pop, but, given he was in a building with some of the best brain surgeons in the world he was in very quickly and had an extremely good outcome. Obviously, he was fit and young, but, staying in hospital is probably for the best.

Try Ghost Face Killa. It's a beer made with a bunch of hot peppers including ghost pepper. It's the hottest beer in the world.

Scary indeed. I hope he pulls through, Mikey.

Back on ship for a month down east caost of South America and up the West. Should have occasional internet.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Hey, if you have experience on a variety of ships, do you have any thoughts about different ships.

It would be convenient for us to cruise out of Baltimore, but only Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas(2002 with 88,500 Tonnes) and Carnival Pride (1996 with 2012 renovation and with 73,817 Tonnes) sail out of there. There are newer ships that are much larger and seem to have larger numbers of things to do, so my wife is leery of being disappointed on those two ships.

Do you have any thoughts on the relative passenger experiences?

Well, Dad's double-bypass surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00 pm "unless there's an emergency surgery." I'm glad that if he has to have open-heart surgery, it will be done by the head of thoracic surgery at the most prestigious hospital in the state; I'm somewhat miffed by the fact that operating on an 81-year-old man with two coronary arteries at least 80% blocked PLUS a "huge" coronary aneurysm - who wasn't allowed home because the docs didn't want him that far from the hospital - doesn't count as somewhat of an emergency.

If that's not an emergency...

Best wishes for him.

According to Beer Menu it's available at a store in Queens, so this is doable. However I won't be drinking 5 in 5 minutes. I like hot, I'm not crazy.

Good news is, with two exceptions, my Christmas shopping/wrapping is done.

Bad news, my car needs repairs.

Just finished reading one of the finest richly-deserved bollockings ever written:

Background from the Beeb
Chris Herbert wrote:Getting frustrated by some people expecting racism from me, because I got blown up. Here it is:

Yes. A Muslim man blew me up, and I lost my leg.

A Muslim man also lost his arm that day wearing a British Uniform.
A Muslim medic was in the helicopter that took me from the field
A Muslim surgeon performed the surgery that saved my life
A Muslim Nurse was part of the team that helped me when I returned to the UK
A Muslim Healthcare Assistant was part of the team that sorted out my day to day needs in rehabilitation when I was learning to walk
A Muslim taxi driver gave me a free ride the first time I went for a beer with my Dad after I came home.
A Muslim doctor offered my Dad comfort and advice in a pub, when he didnt know how to deal with my medicines and side effects.

Contrary to that,
A white brit spat in my girlfriends face for 'fucking a cripple when you could have me [him]'
A White brit pushed my wheelchair away from a lift so he could use it first.
A White brit screamed at my Dad for parking in a disabled bay when I was in the services coming home
(Although, alot of people helped in my recovery! I dont hate white brits either! hahaha)

Point is, fuck off. I know who I dislike, and I know who I dont. I know who I appreciate, and I know who I dont. If you want to hate an entire race of men and women for the actions of a few dickheads feel free, but don't push your views on me, thinking I am an easy target because one douchebag decided it was my day to die.

Blaming all Muslims for the actions of groups like Daeshe and the Taliban, is like blaming all Christians for the actions of the KKK or Westboro Baptist Church.
