One one hand you never want to blame the victims but really....you are going to go through that area in a freaking sailboat and head for the Suez? Common guys. Now some poor schmuck in the military will have to put his life on the line to save you most likely. Just horribly stupid on their part. Not sure what else the navies in the area can do.

Unlikely - they'll probably be released when whoever the pirates send their ransom demand to coughs up.

Not much they can do, especially when the captured vessel's a yacht. Well-equipped container ships are another matter, as the crew can retreat to the citadel and await relief, although that's still an iffy business and dependent on the ship having a citadel.
