Tunisia's and Egypt's watershed gets bloody

Post by Mikey »

Anti-government protests have erupted - and been opposed with violence - in Bahrain, Yemen, and Libya.

What is happening in Bahrein, Yemen, and Libya is the norm for that part of the world. Tunisia, Egypt, etc. is definitly not, those folks are lucky not to be in bodybags.

I doubt this will lead to much, it seems to happen every few years, unless one of the big boys back them up, which they wont, these protests are doomed to failure and death.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

A few weeks ago I'd've thought much the same about Mubarak. While I still don't think Gaddaffi or the Bahrainis will go (at least partially due to the nature of the protests), the Yemenis could be in trouble.
