Sorry, man, but I hate that attitude. Prison should be for rehabilitating people, not leaving people to the mercy of the other inmates. All that does is create worse criminals; people who went in for fraud will come out knowing how to shank people properly.
Doling out real punishment should be left to professionals. I like whit's suggestion.

Then we'll have to disagree. If you're out there killing, raping and torturing people. I don't care what happens to you inside so long as you stay inside.

Someone in for fraud won't be getting the same kind of treatment that these people from the OP are going to get. I'm a strong believer that the best way for people to stay out of prison is to never want to go their in the first place.

We will have to disagree. I don't think those... things should be in the same facility as people who committed non-violent offenses, at the very least.

I agree that prison shouldn't be fun, but people who are in for relatively minor infractions, errors of judgment, and the occasional innocent person shouldn't have to face the same crappy treatment as mass-murderers or child rapists. IMO, of course.

Well this is the state where, as Ron White evidently once said, "Every other state's trying to do away with the death penalty, mine's putting in an express lane."
"All this has happened before --"
"But it doesn't have to happen again. Not if we make up our minds to change. Take a different path. Right here, right now."

You don't have separate min-sec, med-sec, and max-sec prisons? Man, you guys really are waiting for the ghost of old Sam to come back and lead you to independence again, aren't you?
Love Ron White, BTW.
