Xbox live: For people who know what they are doing

Okay, I have just got one of the slim xbox things with a 250gb harddrive and I have a xbox live account....Does anyone know what I do with it? Do you still have to pay for it to be renewed monthly? Am I being a twit?

You have to pay for the "Gold" membership if you want to play against others online and access facebook. With the standard silver membership you can still download demos, vids and DLC.

I've not really got masses of interest in online play, but silver seems fine to me.

I didn't realise you could download DLC with a silver membership,

Oh yeah, it still costs you Microsoft Points but you can do it.

Microsoft = expense. Having to buy a special HDMi cable, special powerpacks for wireless controllers...all these extras dammit.

I'm sticking to my PC gaming, thank you. While Xbox was fun for a while, I've upgraded... of course now I have to get a fan in my laptop fixed...

Maybe its back to Xbox for a week.

That is slowly changing. They've started to charge for some online features. I anticipate eventually it will be the same as Xbox live.

...That's pretty odd. Cause Over here, we're charged nothing. Unless you download pay for packs which have been there from the very start of PS3's network.

Hmmm, Ill have to ask what he's being charged for. I know it was something, and it was something he wasn't charged before.
