Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I would disagree but my opinion of Blackberry's arent that high.
Symbian and maemo DO sell in America, i checked on a number of your network providers, basically any modern nokia is a symbian. However, I understand its never been that prevalent over there. It sells by bucket loads here because its way way WAY cheaper than any other OS.

Ah, well I've never seen a Symbian or Maemo phone, although Maemo sounds familiar...

I have no idea what anyone's talking about.
So...
Yeah. I got nothing else, beyond a day off. Nice, relaxing day.

I'm beat. Yesterday we had the kids at Six Flags Great Adventure for about 8 hours. Today I was at a birthday party for my friend's one-year-old son, and ate like I was on death row. My friend is Puerto Rican and his wife is Italian, so we had lasagna, eggplant, baked ziti, platanos, arroz con habichuelas, pernil, and yuca con cebollas. ![Drool :Drool2:](./images/smilies/drooling.gif)

Got my iPod touch replaced today for a faulty home button, this one finally has a good home button, and I put my invisible shield on it, and it looks amazing, nothing under the skin, and no bad bubbles of liquid or air on it, I am so happy about it. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
My parents are tired of my phone nerding. I've gone through nearly 15 within the last 2 years, via trade in deals or new sim cards etc.
Thats why most of Gosport comes to me for phone advice.![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Haha, yeah, I just do a lot of research on them, most of the town will come to me, as well as anyone who knows me, because everyone seems to know someone who knows I'm good with phones.
I currently want a smartphone, but I don't have the money to buy one, or pay for the contract, my parents don't want to pay for the smartphone contract, which is reasonable, so until I can pay for it myself I'm stuck with the phone I have.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
My parents have always paid contract for me, and often smartphone contracts are no different from featurephone ones here, prices vary dependent on what you get not the phone model. Usually high end models get less choice with contract, which is why they are more expensive.
My house has like 6 phones in at the moment.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Yeah, over here a smartphone has a 30 data feature plus a 30 smartphone contract, I believe they still have it, unless they have drastically changed it. Which they may have, but I really want an Android phone or an iPhone, and if the Droid X comes to Verizon after I get a decent job I'll buy it full price and then pay my parents how ever much it costs since it's a family plan.

If you're doing Android, cheapo ones are still fairly good and don't really miss out much on the big features. Checking Verizon, the LG Ally looks fairly good. Although, We dont have CDMA networks like i THINK Verizon is on, so theres no way i'd have the opportunity to examine a Verizon only phone.

Psst... Reliant, I just made us a thread, I'll continue there, so these poor unlearned folks don't have to listen to our nerd rant. ![Nerdy :Nerd:](./images/smilies/blankry8.gif)

I'm not up on the different phone tech like you two, but I know my contract. VZW has good coverage, and an easy contract. For about $100/month, you get unlimited calling to other VZW customers; unlimited nights and weekends; 500 other minutes; and (most importantly) unlimited txt, pix, and internet.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I pay the equivalent of $33 a month and i get 250 any network minutes, unlimited any network texts, plus unlimited Virgin media minutes + Virtually unlimited (admittedly 1gb, but no-one would reasonably use that much) if data.
