I don't understand what the drama is about the vuvuzelas, or whatever the hell they're called. We used to use those at college football games 20 years ago. Is it just Europeans, who want to have their soccer riots in peace and quiet, the proper way?

I don't mind football "angst" when its cheering, but the vuvuzela is at that particular pitch that just...hurts.

Agreed.

Moreover that godawful buzzing drowns out everything else - I didn't hear the Great Escape once during the US match. :(

I just dislike the worthless idiots who live on my street deciding that they can disturb everyone else so that they can have their fun. I feel the same way about them playing their music so loud you can hear it anywhere over the whole estate (about 200 households). Am a misery guts in general, but its my right as long as I'm not bothering anyone. I expect not to be bothered in return.

And this rant is in the wrong thread but..
"You ain't gonna get off down the trail a mile or two, and go missing your wife or something, like our last cook done, are you?"
"My wife is in hell, where I sent her. She could make good biscuits, but her behavior was terrible."

Perfectly understandable. I thought the fuss was about people blowing their horns at the games, in which situation they simply take the place of other types of noise-making.

Ugh. I hope none of those "musicians" gave up their day jobs. I still don't understand the film reference, though, but it's been 15 years since I saw it.
