Do You Google, Or Do You Search The Internet?
More and more recently, I've started seeing (and hearing) people using "google" as a verb to mean "search the internet". So I'm curious, does anyone else here do it?
And yes, I google.
And yes, I google.

I definitely FGI, but only because I only use Google. If I were to use Yahoo, for example, I'd describe it as "searching".

I use the Google search engine. Other engines simply come nowhere close to the quality and quantity of results in my opinion. I Google or lookup on Google, depending on whom I'm addressing.

The use of the word "google" as a verb is just another example of the dumbing-down of the English language (just when we've finally got it cleaned up from you Brits and all your extra "ue's" and "ou's.") I won't have any part of anything like that.
Besides, I use Bing.

Yeah, I had that coming. But I just like the way Bing works.

In all honesty, I don't have a problem with bing, apart from the fact i just find it more convenient and easy to use google. I dont have a problem with microsoft either.Mikey wrote:Reliant121 wrote:DIRTY MICROSOFT HEATHEN!

I google. And I as well have no problem with microsoft, I mean, heck, I would buy most of their computers... I happen to like Windows 7.

I like them both for different things. Macs are smooth, shiney, error-free for the most part (touch wood) and the software for creative stuff is just sublime.
However, they cannot game well (even mac compatible games run woefully inadequately on one), you can't really change the tech specs, and the software is very much locked to a apple only way.

Ditto. Plus macs are ridiculously expensive.

They have gotten much more decent for their quality. They are now on par with most PCs. The most expensiv part is the high-quality glass screens and the aluminum casings they put everything in.Reliant121 wrote:Ditto. Plus macs are ridiculously expensive.

All fine and dandy, but for the average user, A £200 laptop is perfectly usable and equally spec'ed to the £700 they are going to shell out on a mac book.

Oh yeah, I didn't say it was reasonable, just that it's more comparable to a PC now than it was in the past.
