I would go with Janeway, 'cause I've never heard of the other two
. Plus, with the power of the writers on our side, everything would work out fine.

Much as it pains me, look at their track record. Cain wanted to escape the Cylons. She failed. Janeway wanted to get home. She succeeded. I have no clue who Daala is or what she wanted, so it's between the other two.
So a failure versus a success... gotta go with the success. I vote Janeway. But I would be that guy who sat on Deck 15 and pushed a few buttons once a day whilst staying absolutely the hell away from Janeway herself.

Janeway is better than Daala. Daala was... ye gods.GrahamKennedy wrote:Much as it pains me, look at their track record. Cain wanted to escape the Cylons. She failed. Janeway wanted to get home. She succeeded. I have no clue who Daala is or what she wanted, so it's between the other two.

Not really. Cain had no interest in escape - all she wanted to do was cause as much damage as possible to the Cylons.GrahamKennedy wrote:Cain wanted to escape the Cylons.
Daala's plan was to kick the New Republic around as much as possible. She had four Star Destroyers, a secret research installation in the middle of a black hole cluster that could only be entered through one almost impossible to find route, and an indestructible fighter with missiles that could cause supernovas.GrahamKennedy wrote:I have no clue who Daala is or what she wanted, so it's between the other two.
She accomplished absolutely nothing. She lost all her Star Destroyers in utterly pointless ways, let the ship be captured by a bunch of escaped prisoners, and let her base be conquered by NR forces.
All in all, a spectacular failure.

Under Daala or nBSG Cain it's a slaughter fest, and I'm not talking about the enemies slaughter. At least oBSG Cain thought about the post-battle conditions as much as winning the battle. Janeways losses were far less frequent than Daala's or nBSG Cain's losses.

It's damned hard to argue with results. I'd go with Janeway. She seemed obsessed with getting her crew home again after Caretaker. Cain was nuts, and Daala just never seemed to really give a damn about those under her.

And the fact that Daala... sucked. And was worse than Janeway.Mark wrote:It's damned hard to argue with results. I'd go with Janeway. She seemed obsessed with getting her crew home again after Caretaker. Cain was nuts, and Daala just never seemed to really give a damn about those under her.
Think about that for a moment...

Cain seemed to hold out just fine. Other then being a little bit on the crazy (OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) side I don't really see a problem with her. She was a soldier looking to hurt the enemy. Since she did and did so often I'd say she succeeded.
If she put that kind of motivation behind the idea of getting people home. Who the frak would want to get in her way?
