I want to be surprised, I do. But that would require having faith in the goodness and decency human beings, which I do not.

And since a large proportion of mankind are selfish, uncaring, greedy bastards; your reluctance to have faith in them is perfectly justified IMO.

Okay, bridged version of the rant...

I find myself very happy with the new series. I've been impressed with the detail and thought process behind everything going on.

As well as the charmingly innocent love scenes. It nearly brought a tear to my eye watching true love blossom.

Hmmmmm this and other similar discussions make me want to run a Twilight RPG.

Now, to be fair, I haven't actually read or watched any of the books/movies, and I'm not sure if I actually want to.

However there is plenty of info in various wikis to run the setting. I'm thinking of a setting with "hunters", humans out to destroy vampires, who, while potent for humans, are still flesh and bone without any sparkles or such.

I enjoy running RPGs for the novelty and unpredictability of the players, and Twilight has the distinction of having people who really dislike both the series and its fans...but they've read it and watched it all the same. The idea of putting jaded Trekkies in a position where their characters are out to kill some cute sparkly high school vampire that just wants to make out with them and seeing what happens is...delicious.

Also I'm intrigued by the challenge sparklepires present. Most RPGs are full of mooks you can just shoot in the face, similarly powered threats, or at a minimum critters with a known achilles heel of some sort or other. However sparklepires pretty well lack all vampiric weaknesses, have super speed, other special abilities, and eleiminating them would essentially require anti tank weaponry and/or non-trivial quantities of napalm or high explosives.

Not only does that present a novel challenge, but it forces a deeper level of interaction/scheming as some planning and probably preperation would be required, and those likely require conversations to have taken place, and possibly backstabbing and betrayal of already wangsty characters.

Anybody interested?

Might be difficult. Those meyerpires pack some serious punch. Not to mention their esoteric powers. Edward's a mind reader. Alice has massively accurate precognition. Jasper can affect moods.

And... I like Carlisle. I find his story legit fascinating.

sorry, I dislike twilight enough that even engaging in an RPG to kill the characters doesn't sound fun.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I like the sound of that. Sounds entertaining to watch.

Jedi, vampires, pretty much any super powered mortal or monster is tough to fight up close. Thankfully we don't live in 16th century central Europe.
