Don't get me wrong, I think Twilight is insanely faulted. The adoration she has for him, the way he abuses her and she sits a long blindly, the womanizing throughout the stories...I disagree with each of these. My point is specifically around the trampling on vampires. believe me, I find the book massively faulted and poorly written in many places. However I still managed to enjoy it somehow.

At least you are blind and stupid like girls in my school, who are like, oh well, he loves her, thats all that matters... blah blah blah... Yeah, if your bf abused you would u be saying that. And the sad thing, is they probably would.

My problem with this film is now the girls start drooling over the boys in here. Seeing how weak young girls are to the "popular culture", this ends well right??? So now I get to deal with the boys who stop bathing and shaving and wear the same dirty clothes to school every day in an effort to be like these guys in the movie. On the street they would be bash as hobo's but in the movies they get to be sex symbols.

The whole "We have vampires and werewolves but they don't do anything that any have ever done before and have not plot or story or IQ to carry with..." blah blah blah blah ranting ranting ranting... Yeah, its a shitty story with about as much structure as quicksand. However, this isn't the first movie like this. It won't be the last movie like this. So I leave it as is. I also take enjoyment that ten years down the road. All those drooling girls will grow up and look back and puke that they ever like this kinda stuff... and I'll be there to insult the hell out of them for it.

Ok, now I'm starting to elevate the series from drivel to something they should have in novels class.

See although I like to read, I always found novels class a little hollow because once you explain to the idiots that Animal Farm is about Communism there usually isn't that much to really discuss that isn't trite.

Much more interesting were later discussions in college where people would feel sorry for or be supportive of Alex in "A Clockwork Orange", because he's the protagonist, you're seeing things from his POV, some not nice things are happening to him later along the in the book, or whatever. But, c'mon, you had to read the first part of the book to get to the second.

Anyway it makes for interesting discussion and analysis of how people think (including myself).

Sounds like Twilight might have that same sort of thing going on.

Also, if you haven't read "A Clockwork Orange" do so. Or watch the move first, than read the book. This is one of the rare instances where I think the movie might actually carry the theme better because it comes at you fast and has a shock value that a book, however well written, really can't match. But do read the book too, at least the last chapter which is left out of the movie.

Bullshit. Dracula could carry a box full of earth, that took several strong men to left, single-handed, and the ability to move extremely quickly is inherent in great strength (not to mention it's hardly an unreasonable addition).

What exactly is "sparkling"? A physical description or an ability of some kind? As for venom, how is that any different from the age-old routine of transformation by drinking a vampire's blood?

Apparently, they "sparkle" when they're in sunlight.

I've searched Youtube for a video of Edward's glitter powers. Hilariously, they're all just poor quality piss-takes on the scene. Amusingly, the only clip I found where you can actually see the sparkle effect is a Rifftrax compilation. Check 7:20.

I'm curious, how are the werewolves portrayed? I never got that far in the book.

Irrelevant, the point i was making is that your pissed off that the author is making up vampire traits that differ from....well what some other author made up to be vampire traits...it's kind of a double standard.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Actually, I'm pretty certain there were other incidents in vampire lore of vampires being able to "transform" humans into vampires by biting them.

Going by the trailer for the new film, it appears that they can change form at will, at any time. No big deal in my opinion - it simply widens the definition of "werewolf" to all human-lupine metamorphs, rather than just those whose transformation is triggered by the full moon.

I think that the gripe was with the fact it was termed Venom. Frankly, it's utterly irrelevant what it's called.

And Seafort is correct to a degree. The Transformation process also takes pace when the person is angry or emotionally stressed.

Indeed. As far as I know there are two common methods - either draining a human to death, or ingesting the vampire's blood. I see no difference between the latter and this venom (indeed, the term "venom" sounds a more reasonable description).

Damn right.

Even more amusing is that I found no less than three such compilations.
