Windows Installation

Post by stitch626 »

Is is possible to use one install CD on multiple computers?
Because, while XP is fine for me, I want to eventually (as in after Nick fully tests it) switch to 7. But I don't want to buy another CD.
I've heard rumors that once windows is activated on one machine, it cannot be activated on another with the same install CD.
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

Well it would be illegal, you need a fully licensed copy of Windows for each machine you run it on. As for the CD that's not the issue. We have a CD in work that is able to install on as many machines we have licenses for. It's not the media that's the limit it's the license key.
