Dare I ask how that's worse than having the Confederate flag flying?

Because in border states, people will shoot out the issue instead of just disagreeing...

Border state doesn't just refer to the border of the Mason/Dixon Line. Where Deep lives, he's equidistant from a metropolitan center, and from a place where people shoot their dinner.

So, is your neck of the woods more or less thin-skinned than this lot?

In Sugar Land, a lot of people would probably laugh and wave at you.

In Plantersville, where Uzume lives, it would probably be about the same as that video.

That has got to be one of the most pathetic things I've seen.

You should see the full version of their American episode. Sadly, only very a shortened version is up on YouTube.

I do. Dalton, GA (just south of where I live) is an ICE hot spot from time to time.

Due to my job I get to visit many parts of the US, sometime all four corners in a week. That's why I like my job, it's full of great people, but there is the occasional jerk out there. Maybe I'll start doing international stuff in a few years fly into Shannon and get a chance to see a real civilized nation. LOL

I am 39 seconds into it and I have already made up my mind... I'm watching this series.

The problem in border states is that half the people support the south, and half the north. This discounts the few that just don't give a damn either way.

Another problem is that the southern supporters are divided. A few still think the Civil War is going to pick back up again. Others are worried that they're going to have to take sides. Those of us who were born with IQ are stuck dealing with the crap that they cause. The job of cleaning up the mess is split between teachers, government workers, police officers and military personnel.

Sometimes its fun to joke about the problems with my family since most of us handle the above jobs. Though sometimes, its just really bad. No other word seems needed when you want to cover it.

Being in a boarder state myself its a little different in Missouri. Its based on urban vs rural. Urban places in Missouri like Kansas City, Saint Louis, Columbia (also since its a college town) are very democratic / northern. But the lesser urban places like Saint Joseph and Springfield and I assume Joplin but I've never been there are kind of split but are more republican / southern further out you go.

Civil War is a big part of Missouri history. Second most battles in the Civil War I believe. And the Missouri Compromise, which made the state, was done so to maintain the balance of northern and southern states.
