On the topic of shit that will kill us all...

Post by Teaos »

I hope like fuck this is just hype...
NEW YORK, New York - Amidst the recent hysteria over swine flu, the bigger story as it relates to exotic disease and the possibility for pandemic was lost in the fray. The independent Chinese language network "New Tang Dynasty Television", filed a report this past Wednesday about a new disease which seems to mimic the AIDS virus but is spreading through mainland China via casual contact or exchange of bodily fluids such as sweat or saliva. Due to the Chinese government's restrictions on the press, details are light at this time with the following video report being the only credible footage available at this time. Estimates at this time are indicating at least 600 have been infected. The mortality rate of the disease is as of yet, unknown.
Basically AIDS that spreads by even causal contact. Yeah we're fucked if this is real.

If it does mimic AIDS then not only is there no cure, but there is no containing it, the incubation is so long you can't issolate people.

I know there isnt a lot of details there, I've read a bit more around by google and another forum I'm on.

Some of the speculation going around is that this is one of the engineered virus' the Chineese goverment have made and got out...

You have to hand it to them when it comes to the mass, mass-production of technically inferior goods though.

That's right. If someone offers to shake your hand smack them with a bible and run.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Yeah, I'll panic once it's confirmed to be a serious threat. As it is, we've got just roumors from the Chinese media to go on.

At this point the bigger threat is North Korea. Anyone heard their ultimatum to the US?

I've read their untimatum, I reckon it'll end up with nk pissing so many people off china and/ or russia will kick in the back door and sort the regeime out. At the end of the day business will win out and quite frankly US and EU are more valuable to them than nk.
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!

As far as I am aware, badly made goods are the biggest danger presented by China right now (not counting badly made Chinese food that'll give you heartburn  )

Funny I should speak, since my beloved now laptop is from Lenovo, a Chinese company! (it is well made if you must know)

No the "if any of our ships are stopped for inspection we will declare war" one.
