Letterman vs Palin

I thought this story was pretty funny. Palin over reacting in my opinion and her traitor husband could have used different words.

They're both jerks.
"The Palins have no intention of providing a ratings boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show," said Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton. "Plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman."
“You cannot play God then wash your hands of the things that you've created. Sooner or later, the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore.”

And then Buffy staked Edward. The End.

Ouch. That's seriously low that last sentence. I hate Palin.

But I actually like Letterman.

Maybe it's because I have a daughter but when someone starts on about this kind of thing:
It all started on Monday when David Letterman told some off-color jokes about Alaskan governor Sarah Palin and her daughter. Dave made some cracks about one of the Palin girls having to fend off Eliot Spitzer and getting knocked up by Yankees star Alex Rodriguez during a recent trip to the Big Apple.
I'm siding with the parents, especially since the daughter that was in New York was the 14 year old one. In this case Letterman was an asshole.

Mistaking the two daughters is an easy mistake. He thought the 18 one was in NYC. The one who had been knocked up :P

It would have taken an intern a couple minutes to confirm it was the right daughter. Even then the jokes are in poor taste.

They were in poor taste. However, Sarah Palin is a politician, and should know better than to even respond to these things. Thin skin and politics don't exactly go hand-in-hand.

Of course, the things Sarah Palin should know but doesn't is a very long list indeed.

haha so true.

I personally don't see anything wrong with either joke provided the daughter was Bristol. Palin could use some make up now that Letterman mentions it, to slut up her flight attendant look.

David Letterman is trying to get a laugh. He's often in poor taste. If they had just ignored it, it wouldn't even be remembered today.

Agreed. Don't want to be called a slut? Don't be a slut.

You know what's funny? Sarah seems to have more of a problem with people poking fun at her daughter then the girl herself does. So much for moms faith in abstinence only education, huh?

Well her daughter also said it was her choice to have the baby not her god given mandate to have it. Pro-choice really goes against the Palin camp.

Letterman was way out of line. He should man up and give a decent apology.
