I take it you don't have a manditory HS requirement? Seriously though, having nice easy to read labels are a good thing in any application. Unlike our old Leo-1's which still had all the old German labels on everything...
Well honestly sleep loss really screws with someone's mind and you never know when a soldier might be up for 48 hours straight. You want things that say "FRONT TOWARDS ENEMY" clearly. No reason for your battle buddy to blow you up accidentally cause he's too tired to think straight. Or loss too much blood, missing a hand, etc.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

In Year of Hell after Tuvok was blinded by the torpedo exploded in his face he was still able to use the tactical station so he obviously didn't use his eyes for it
He said activate brail configuration. Which is handy a warship can be usable by blind people.

Isn't that kinda foolish as well, I mean Tuvok was a great tactician, but how many Blind people will be that good. I also believe that he knew where most of the things were. How did he read the sensors as where the ships were? I'm really wondering about that, you really can't have Braille enabled sensor displays, can you?

I'd attribute it more to the available graphics of the day, rather than anything else. But if you look at Franz Joseph's technical manual a lot of the controls have labels.

I thought Joseph did the post TOS design work.

Are we still talking about the tactile interface Tuvok used on VOY? :?

This is why those touch panels are a bad idea.

That would be funny if I hadn't been seeing that a lot recently. :bangwall:

Actually, was that Lore? Don't ever really remember Data getting mad like that...
