We could just use a ring platform and leave the planet.

Yeah. But a Gould base planet would have hundreds of transports, cargo ships and towns all over the planet. All of them have Ring Platforms that we could travel to.

Let's just steal one of those cargo shuttles then.Deepcrush wrote:Yeah. But a Gould base planet would have hundreds of transports, cargo ships and towns all over the planet. All of them have Ring Platforms that we could travel to.

Umm, yeah, that was my plan. But a ring will get us there a lot quicker.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I have a plan for using the transporter. If someone could get us to a large enough craft in time, that's cool - but it has to be large enough to take the collected na-whatchamacallit... plus both our teams including an ironclad dreadnought.

I'm of the thinking that my guy is a little to 'big boned' for the mine. Could some of our smaller members perhaps hurry the hell up! Its just Huron-Fel up at the mine with only an eldar as my cover. That normally ends badly for everyone involved.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
It seems that the assault team has their way of getting off-world planned out. Assuming nothing else goes wrong with the ship's transporters.
The infiltration team may have a problem, though. Presumably there's some sort of shuttle in or near the pyramid, though. I'm guessing the commander there would have a way of getting off-world. Grab that and you'll be able to get out easy enough.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Ashok has an idea for getting the infiltration team out with the transporters (assuming the transporters still work) but if a craft is available, that's fine too. Now, is the stuff we need in the pyramid or in the flaming mine?

I think the naquadah/naquadriah is in the mine. Presumably there'd be containers of alread mined material lying around near the surface or just below, though.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I figured there'd be some naquadah about; but isn't the naquadriah the product of some sort of processing?

Hmm, you're right.
Shit, I hope the processing plant wasn't in the village, 'cause I nuked that earlier.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I had sort of figured that we were just trying to nab a stockpile stored in the pyramid. *shrug*
OK, folks, here's the deal: we need to come up with a consensus as to a) where's the stuff we're trying to grab; and, b) who from the assault team is taking my advice and bugging out right away, who's hanging around to show off their cojones, and how y'all are getting out of Dodge.
As I said, according to the context of Rochey's last post, the transporters are one of the few things still working on the Kirk, and my last story post contained the seed of an idea to make it so even the infiltration team can use that option. If you want to "requisition" one of the local Gou'ald craft, you have to decide who and what can fit in it and where you're going to find it.
Thoughts?

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Just a thought, but I'm certain that a facility like this would have a few cargo ships around. The Tel'tak, which appears to be the standard shuttle/cargo ship, has a ring teleporter built into it. Perhaps someone could nab one of these, grab the other team, and leg it into orbit before the Ha'tak hits the ground.
