Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
Here's one set up I just came up with:
we have 11 players right now (excluding Stitch)
3 Founders
1 Medic
1 Security Guard
1 S31 Agent
1 Counselor or Medicle Examiner
leaving 4 regular humans
what do you think

I'd lose the Councilor. We already have the medic to fulfill that role, and it'll start getting crowded with all the special characters in it if there's too many.

Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
Thanks, Staplic, for posting that. As a n00b to the game without any desire to go re-read all the older game threads, that's a huge help. Again, as a n00b, I'm willing to take whatever role I'm given and like it. I assume that when the Founders decide who to deep-six, they communicate their decision to the Moderator?

Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
yes....the founders can PM eachother and decide then they PM the moderator...who also gets the medics, SG, and Agent's choice then makes a story post showing everything...
and don't worry mikey...we all have to take what we're given...we don't get to choose our roles.
and don't worry mikey...we all have to take what we're given...we don't get to choose our roles.
? The Councilor and Medic do two different things....the medic tests to find if their a founder or not....councilor stops one player from completing their task, i.e. if they choose a founder (and there's one left) the founders can't kill anyone, if they choose a founder with more than one left then it's just that much harder for the founders to kill...or if they choose the medic he/she can't get away to test their resultsRochey wrote:I'd lose the Councilor. Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
Gah, got it mixed up with the Betazed. Never mind.
Does that mean that the Councelor could also prevent human specialists, like the security guard or medic, from completing their actions? Because if so, then that could be an interesting addition. Particularly since one Founder is required to be dead before it becomes of any real help to the humans.

yup, the fcounsilor stops ANY person s/he stays with....so if that person guesses wrong then the humans would be set back...it should provide a little bit of a tighter game. giving the Founders a higher chance of winning.

Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
Aye, that sounds like a good idea.
On another note, I'd like to suggest that the narative become more ambiguous again. Lately I've noticed that it seems to be giving minor hints and details away accidentaly that players could use, in the name of making the story more interesting. I think we should just go back to the bare-bones style we had initialy. As in, don't let the players know who the security guard protected, don't let us know the result of the medic's test (even if we don't know his name yet), etc. Just a simple "Steve heard a noise, he stood up and was stabbed from behind by a Founder" style thing.
Narrative's all well and good, and some of it has been great to read, but I think it's starting to get in the way of the actual game itself. Anyone else agree with me on this?

Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
idk about dropping the dietails, but I def agree about the hints, in the last game (not the restart) I was able to decifer that Tsuki was a founder based on Marks post...(even though it was accidental). I think being careful about what dietails are put in is needed, but I kind of like reading the narratives.

Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
I'm not saying to completely remove the naratives, just make them devoid of any real info other than who died and how. No dialogue, no recognition of who it was that attacked the victim, just the death.
Even small and seemingly useless bits of nartive like "the security specialist stayed in his room, his phaser pointed at the door" can give away who it is under certain circumstances.

Re: Find the Founders VIII sign-up
I've made a decision on that. Basically at night I'll only post what the Founders did (so that you know how the guy was killed). The medic and sec guy know what they did, and no one else would.
And now for the rant. Why did you bring up the new characters on my watch? I've never moderated anything before.
Also, due to my busy schedule yesterday and today, we may not start till Tuesday (still trying for tomorrow).
And have we decided who will be the new guy(s). I don't particularly care...

Ok here's what I have so far.
Participants:
Rochey (lieutenant, science officer)
Mark (lieutenant jg, engineering)
Tsu (chief petty officer, communications night shift)
Nick (crewman, engineering)
Bob (cook)
Deep (lieutenant jg, security officer)
Mikey (ensign, operations officer)
MM&I (ensign, helmsman)
Slaplic (crewman, science/engineering)
Lazar (crewman, security officer)
These positions are to give the story depth; they do not affect who is what.
Roles:

3 special humans (I will not reveal my choice )
4 normal humans
Setting:
Ship goes boom, two escape pods survive, first officer discovers there are Founders, first officer gets axed. (it will be much more interesting... I hope).
