It wasn't an insult. I'm just saying that the USMC is now a vanguard or high-level insertion force, not actually "marines" in the sense of soldiers stationed aboard a ship. I'd love to see how a rowboat full of Somalis fares against a fully-kitted platoon of devil dogs.

MGs are too light to be certain of sinking one of the bigger ships, 3 in I think would be too heavy and complicated for a Q-ship. A Vulcan would do well, but its rate of fire might be a problem - you'd have to carry a huge amount of ammo. Best bet, I think, would be a few 40mm Bofors.
