Re: F-22 crashes, 1 dead
Why did they bother continuing it? It seems like some sort of unholy crossbreed between a helicopter and an aircraft. Even I can tell that such an idea would be filled with problems. The shit safety records only further proves that.

There was a lot invested in the project, and it certainly has some real-world uses - plus, a good dollop of sheer bloody-mindedness.

Purpose for the Osprey: It (generally) has greatrer range than helicopters and a greater speed. It also has the abillity to land and take-off vertically, unlike planes.
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

When it was designed, yes. Now however there are helicopters that have similar speed and range or can have it with some modification, we can chalk up the continuation of this abortion to Pork and the Marines playing on their rep.stitch626 wrote:Purpose for the Osprey: It (generally) has greatrer range than helicopters and a greater speed. Oh of course. I thought Rochey was going on about why make it in the first place.

Nope, I was wondering why they're continuing it now.
