With the sino hegemony and all its subservient satellites, and caspian state allies or at least compliants, and with the kokkais' threats to quarantine american bases, and the philippenes, having their resurgent 'national emphasis' and ethnic strife, its going to be tricky in the next few decades for america to extert military influence in the region, via conventional means, and seafort is right, that nato was established with a central front war through german plains and the scapa flow in mind.

You obviously know sweet fuck all about China's force projection capabilities, they do not have the means to invade Taiwan and are not moving to acquire these means. The US can beat their current and projected forces with a few CVBG in the straits. And by basing fighters on Taiwan.Granitehewer wrote:With the sino hegemony and all its subservient satellites, and caspian state allies or at least compliants, and with the kokkais' threats to quarantine american bases, and the philippenes, having their resurgent 'national emphasis' and ethnic strife, its going to be tricky in the next few decades for america to extert military influence in the region, via conventional means, and seafort is right, that nato was established with a central front war through german plains and the scapa flow in mind.

READ MY POSTS, i didn't mention a chinese ballistic missile offensive or invasion, all my posts relate to geopolitics between the asian nations, including the warming of relations between Taipei and Beijing, with enhanced economic and political ties, and ethnocentric revivals in the orient, with a resultant shirking of western values,it didn't mention overt chinese military action, nor any conventional war at all. Infact in earlier posts, i poo poo'ed the idea, of chinese fighters over taiwan etc.
So next time, read what i f**king write and not tell me what you think i do or do not know about geopolitics, or global strategies.
And as for your mention of the conventional action in the littoral waters of the formosa strait and other sectors near taiwan or the spratlys, i didn't say that china was moving to acquire sufficient expeditionary might in that sphere at all, i know the limits of han submarines for instance, i was mentioning the politico-economic ties

Read up any of the whitepapers freely available or journals on the increasingly financial solidarity between the republic of china and the peoples' republic of china with singapore forming a new eco-triumvirate, and the dilution of Taiwans' demands on its status with the PRC Politburo, regarding the official nomenclature of recognition etc, or if you'd rather have a book, compiled from journals and with an extensive reference section, read 'The Clash of Civilisations' by Sam Huntingdon, he includes many sources which are freely available and publish by governmental sectors on both sides of the pacific and by the private sector..
One of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council is the Peoples' Republic of China.
I had not disagreed with your post on conventional warfare or chinas' military, but you had not read mine, and thus offensively misinterpreted what was being said.
The status of Chinas' 20 icbm's has changed somewhat since the recent counterintel coups of the ministry of state security, so if the figure is from Tom Clancys' ''The Bear and the Dragon'' or ''SSBN'', it needs revising.

Actually the 20 ICBM figure comes from www.fas.org which is pretty current. I don't take figures from Clancy's work. You have my apologies if I was rude.
