Modern life is just to easy for people to dumb their way through.
I've certainly heard it said more than once that we are dumbing down the species thanks to advances that allow us to save folks that would have died before breeding. 200 years ago that lower mower guy would have bleed to death. It's interesting to think about your 7-8 children comment and realise just how many people I know like are like that turn out to be rather stupid.
