Not surprising, though. What wasn't mentioned is the fact that the Latin mass which Pope Brownshirt... er, I mean, Benedict is making more readily available (against the spirit of John Pual I, BTW) include much more blatant anti-semitic language. Now, we get the OK for a holocaust-denier to become a bishop. Yes, become, because he was never a bishop before. An archbishop can perform whatever ordination he likes, but if the pope never signed off, the ordination never officially took place.

I'd like this guy to try and convince me that those rooms at Aushcwitz, Dachau, etc. were really just "showers." Or that the constant, charnel smoke risinng daily over Theriesenstadt was wood smoke from the bakeries. And I'd like him to tell me what exactly did happen to those 13 million non-combatant minority civilians who apparently weren't murdered by the Third Reich.

Ultimately, the Number is irrelevant. If it were a single life to be extinguished because he/she happened to be a jew, then it is completely wrong. The fact that so many, such a magnitude of mass-murder...no, blatant attempted genocide happened makes it worse than wrong. Denying that it never happened is either ultimate ignorance, or disrespect on the highest levels. I like to think that every single one of the jews, the Serbs, the Gays, the POW's, the Gypsies, the jehovah's witnesses that were murdered in those chambers died for a reason. Died to finally show the world how wrong, and immoral that level of discrimination actually is. Saying that they never died, were never murdered, were never even subjected to that pain is the ultimate disservice to their memory, one that I hope is never forgotten. Because that memory has a lasting legacy today. And I hope that legacy holds forever.

There's no need to even bother going that far. Just show him some of the many pictures of the piles of corpses and remains and ask him what the hell they were if not victims of mass murder.
