I gotta get on the T'elc work out program...ChakatBlackstar wrote:I think Stargate series is very realistic, assuming the parts with the ancients and ancient egyptions are accurate. Honestly, I could see these as real people, I could easily see myself talking with a member of SG-1 and having a normal conversationg with them.
Which Sci-Fi do you think will be closest to real life?
Ugh... do not thump the Book of G'Quan...

It's quite possible that the humans of that universe have simply reached their technological peak. You can't keep inventing forever.

Yeah, but that is what happens when you base your society around a religion.Deepcrush wrote:I like the new BSG but I find that I get annoyed with the stagnant culture that has formed. A peak? What peak? They have the tech of my G-ma, they aren't much more then a mini version of the Imp of man.Rochey wrote:It's quite possible that the humans of that universe have simply reached their technological peak. You can't keep inventing forever.

When your G-ma builds an inter-stellar engine, let me know.
Anyway, the tech they have is pretty impresive, it just looks crude and low-tech.

Radio's that fail by low level EM, junk.
Bullets that can't crack 1/2 inch cylon armor, junk.
Allowed nukes to be placed all over their home world, stupid.
Ships that can be controled from the outside with the flick of a switch and have no back up systems and or secondary control feature.
My G-ma atleast keeps 'two' mitts for the oven just incase she might need a second.

Do we know that they were low-level?Radio's that fail by low level EM, junk.
Armour made of what?Bullets that can't crack 1/2 inch cylon armor, junk.
And how thick armour can modern weapons penetrate?
We have nukes all over our homeworld, too.Allowed nukes to be placed all over their home world, stupid.
Granted, that was stupid.Ships that can be controled from the outside with the flick of a switch and have no back up systems and or secondary control feature.
Good thinking. My G-ma atleast keeps 'two' mitts for the oven just incase she might need a second.
Keep in mind though, none of the above actualy disprove my point that they may have reached their technological peak.

Those nukes were launched from raiders and basestars.Deepcrush wrote: Allowed nukes to be placed all over their home world, stupid.
Once they'd built backdoors into the system via Baltar's CNP.Ships that can be controled from the outside with the flick of a switch and have no back up systems and or secondary control feature.
Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe: Albert Einstein.
