Judging by the time spent in detention, probably about 5% of the time he was at school. At most.

It's funny; when I was 16, and in CCE classes (Catholic after-school school to get ready for Confirmation), my mom was the volunteer teacher, so I pretty much came up with the lessons, and ran the class. I taught everyone there to interpret the book their own way, and never let anyone force you to accept any specific doctrine as truth.

Religion really doesn't care for people thinking for themselves. Good thing they never caught on to what I did, but I like to think that maybe I made a slight difference there.

The old "rock He can't lift" paradox is a constant source of discussion for the non-religious; but it's a red herring when introduced into a conversation with a religious person, if you're actually trying to develop an intelligent discourse. The only purpose of that question is to highlight the paradox itself, rather than promote discussion or induce a better fundamental understanding of a faith. Even the uber-religious in my faith - my childhood rabbi was himself a student of the last lubavitcher rebbe - would agree with Mark, that an understanding of faith doesn't come from an analysis of geological conception.
