The DITL elections
Re: The DITL elections
I would say Tribble #1451/Tribble #189650.

Re: The DITL elections
I only wish more voters were as motivated as the DITL crew. Neither of my roommates want to vote. They don't see the point.

Re: The DITL elections
Two of my friends were going to vote McCain, but I've swayed them to the degree that they aren't voting. Works for me.

Re: The DITL elections
I have no problem wth people not voting. Its a perfectly acceptable form of policial protest.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I wanted clinton to start with but she fell out. Then McCain was doing well until Palin. She a nut case to W proud. Now I'm stuck with Obama which sucks but there isn't much I can do about it.

Obama. At bare minimum, he's the lesser of two evils compared to the three-ring circus McCain's running, but he can be more. He's certainly a welcome retreat from the anti-intellectual yodels running the asylum, now.
Of course, he probably doesn't need to worry too much about New York State, anyway.

IIRC, New York's pretty heavily Democrat, right?

Re: The DITL elections
Most of the mid-Atlantic states are. The issue for Democrats around here has never been in winning the minds of the population; rather, it's been getting the turnout among the notoriously apathetic Democratic inner-city base.

Re: The DITL elections
Due to the overwhelming influence of one of the world's largest megacities which is a democratic stronghold, yes, in Presidential elections most certainly. Many of the more rural parts upstate lean more Republican, but just can't overcome the voting power of 10 million people in the City. NYC does actually have a mayor who is officially Republican at the moment, but Bloomberg is something of a closet Democrat in real life.Rochey wrote:IIRC, New York's pretty heavily Democrat, right?

You could do what my conservative friend is, vote Obama so that in 2012 Romney can run.Deepcrush wrote:I wanted clinton to start with but she fell out. Then McCain was doing well until Palin. She a nut case to W proud. Now I'm stuck with Obama which sucks but there isn't much I can do about it.

Re: The DITL elections
Just out of curiousity, how many of us will actually BE voting this year? Meaning not only registered to vote, but actually PLANNING on it?

Oh. Not me, I don't vote. And Nick and Bob are too young, but they wouldn't vote either.
