Meh, we let you win because we felt sorry that you hadn't won it at all in the last nine years.

Seriously, though, well played.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

True, although I don't think that was what won it.Rochey wrote:Seriously, though, well played.
Well captained - that's the key bit. Faldo did well, but Azinger was superb - this was the first time in quite a while that the US played as a team rather than as a collection of talented individuals.

Re: Ryder Cup
Very true, but don't discount both the letdown of some well-experienced Europeans (*cough* Sergio *cough*) and the very clutch play of some American rookies - Kim, B. J. Holmes, and Mahan - which helped overcome the mediocre play of some American vets. Yeah, I'm talking to you, Mickelson.

Re: Ryder Cup
And strange how it coincided with the absence in the US team of arguably the greatest golfer in the history of the sport.Captain Seafort wrote:this was the first time in quite a while that the US played as a team rather than as a collection of talented individuals.Rochey wrote:Seriously, though, well played.

Re: Ryder Cup
Not really that strange - as great as Tiger is, he doesn't have a particularly great track record at the Ryder Cup.
