I find it quite telling that on numerous occasions I've seen people mistake Onion articles for real news reports. Hell, I sometimes get fooled by them myself if someone doesn't outright state that they're from the Onion.
Actualy, I recall hearing a few years ago about an Asian newspaper getting sued for plagiarism because they mistook an Onion article for real news and copied it onto their own paper!
