Re: Harry Dresden Files
Anybody else still here and reading? What did we think of Peace Talks/Battle Ground? Yup, Peace Talks as a stand alone book may be the worst of the series. It was a stupid decision to split them. But taken together they were good. I agree Murphy’s character arc had played out. Interested to see what...

Re: Star Trek: Lower Decks | Season 2 Teaser | Paramount+ (Spoilers)
Honestly I loved it. I saw all of season 1 and the first episode of season 2 -- need to finish.
For me it is definitely a love letter to TNG Era Trek. Is it a tonal adjustment? Absolutely. Is the heart and soul there? Absolutely.

Re: Discovery Season Three
I'm ready.
And would be happy with a plot that is "Like Andromeda, but good."

Re: Just Reading Random Musings on the site...
Studying Data didn't allow Starfleet to create full Data-like Android's. The models seen at Utopia Planetia were intelligent-ish. Kinda like how Siri and Alexa can appear to converse and reply to provided stimuli but it is all programmed, no actual thinking or planning. They were used as tools whose...

Re: Worf's promotion.
IIRC Worf is one of the people Zhaban suggests Picard reach out to before he decides to go out on his own.

Memory Alpha lists Picard's promotion and initial meetings as occuring in 2381-82.

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes
For the last time: the 25% different is bullshit. So you say. Well I'm at least as qualified as a youtuber :poke: But also, so says CBS and anyone who can take 5 minutes to google... And once again, the show was never meant to be TNG 2.0. Indeed Stewart was never interested in TNG 2.0. How do peopl...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes
For the last time: the 25% different is bullshit. CBS always retained the TV Rights and licensing rights. Paramount had to pay them for Kirk and Spock etc. for the new films. Also in the comics it is established that his romulan companions are prior Tal Shiar. And in the C-in-C's defense, Picard did...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes
Second thing - to me, at least, this doesn't feel even slightly like a TNG sequel. The people who made this were completely not interested in doing that. Which makes me wonder why they made this at all? From everything I've read going into it, the production team (including Patrick) was very clear ...

Re: Picard rumour/speculation
I mean, if we're speculating based on bait and switch name conventions: "Star Trek: Picard" is actually a Mintakan docudrama telling the story of the life and times and tribulations of The Picard during the rise of a new religion on Mintaka 3 similar to Terras "King of Kings" or ...

Re: Term of service
Quick addition, in FC when discussing the Borg invasion Geordi does remark
"We've been out in space for nearly a year now." However they don't elaborate on if that includes shakedown and testing time or as a fully operational starship.
